To determine the K value by varying the concentrations of many reactions in a systematic and experimental manner and measuring the equilibrium concentrations of the product. Procedure - First prepare the standard solutions using a 10 mL volumetric flask. Add 2 mL of .2 M Fe(NO 3 ) 3 in .1M nitric acid and a known amount of .002M NaSCN in .1M HNO 3 the amounts should vary between 0 and 1mL. Dilute solutions using .1M HNO 3 . Then place solutions into a cuvette and set the spectrophotometer to 447 nm and take the readings of the solutions. Next, the group will take the readings of the equilibrium miztures. Prepare the mixtures using a 10 mL volumetric flask, adding 5 mL of .002M Fe(NO 3 ) 3 in .1M Nitric acid and a known amount of .002M NaSCN in a .1M HNO 3 . The amounts should vary between 0 and 5 mL. Then using the spectrophotometer, take readings as above. Data
