During this past year at college, I have learned much. Supriseingly, I have found that in college you learn more about life itself than you do any one subject. When I came to college I had expected it to be exactly like high school had been; I was in for a huge enlightening. My concept of college was anything but realistic. I had expected to be able to make good grades by simply going to class and paying close attention. Once I started my classes I soon realized that it was going to take a lot more than just showing up and being conscious to make good grades. I realized that I was going to have to look at college as one would look at a job. I had certain hours and certain responsibilites in order to be sucessful. Above all I had to realize that I was here for one reason and one reason only, to learn and make a future for myself at any cost.

Unformatted text preview: I have changed so much in such a short amount of time. I have learned that in life you must seek knowledge in order to secure a future, and that fun is not above all else. I slowly but surely have become more responsible and more driven than I had ever previously been. I am now an adult, assuming responsibility for the rest of my life. I now take my actions seriously and have learned to asses each action before it is taken. Most of all, since coming to college I have grown up. If I could redo my experience thus far, I would not change a thing. I know that I have messed up, but that has only challanged myself to grow and change. I have learned and become better through each and every mistake. I have worked hard and I have learned more about life than I had ever hoped to learn in the previous 17 years....
