Smith 1 Lindsey Davis September 19, 2007 Engl 1301-11224 Football is life! That is what has been drilled into my head by my father since I first took the field in first grade. “Did you run today?” “Did you get to the gym and work out?” The two questions I knew would be asked ever single time I looked at my caller id and saw that my father was calling me. My father played football in college, he was a fullback at UTA. About midway through his freshman year he tore a ligament in his knee and they told him he couldn’t ever play again. That’s a tough thing for someone to hear. I think that ever since that day, my dad has been living his dream through me. He thinks, “My body couldn’t hold up, but I know his will.” So he has pushed me and pushed me and pushed me. I have realized that the sport I have loved for so long, is slowly killing me inside. “This is your dream!” Those were the exact words my father told me on June 15 th , 2006. I had went to a football camp at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches,
