CS180 Project 4 Due: Nov 28 Synopsis Cause a system (running the OS of your choice) to experience some massive amounts of page faults and thrashing. Measure its effect on other running programs. Write up the results in a project report. Instructions Massive amounts of paging can be the death of a computer's interactivity and responsiveness. In the following tasks, you will cause the system to perform a large amount of paging in task 1, to the point of thrashing in task 2. Task 1: Start a large interactive program (Visual Studio is a good example). After judging how responsive its GUI is, cause it to get paged out. Then accessing the GUI will exhibit a huge sluggishness until it is paged back in. Once all the pages are back into memory, responsiveness will be restored. You can cause running programs to be paged out by running another program (which you will write in C++ or whatever else you want) that creates a huge array. The size of the array needed will depend on the amount of physical
