All partiesinvolved in education should gain insight in Educational Managementas it is vital to help schools’ function successfully and effectivelyrealize their goals.Educational management may even be considered a (logy) byitself when itcomes to the management of educational organizations.In essence,educational management is all about factual application of managementprinciples in education fields.In the words of Mr.Gerald Ngugi Kimani,it isplain as observe that educational administration and management are twoapplied fields of study.Educational management is an applied field ofmanagement. One cantherefore deduce that educationalmanagementreferstotheapplicationoftheoryandpracticeofmanagementtothefieldofeducationoreducational Institutions. Educational administration is aprocessofacquiringandallocatingresourcesfortheachievement of predetermined educational goals.Functions of Educational ManagementTheprocessofeducationalmanagementconsists of five basic functions; a manageruses thesefunctions to achieve educational organization goals andobjectives. Most of the authors agreed on the followingfive functions of the educational management:1.Planning2.Organization3.Directing4.Coordination5.Controlling6.Evaluation
Area of Educational Management Field StudyEducationalmanagementhasthreemajorfieldstudy area, they are:1.Human ResourceThrough the student, the educational personnel, and thestakeholder and community as an education service user.2.Learning ResourceSuch as tools through the planning which will be used as a media orcurriculum.3.Facility and Finance ResourceAs supporting factors which make the education held well.Humanresource,throughthestudent,theEducational LeadershipDefinition of Educational LeadershipBy definition, is the ability of an accomplishedpersontoinfluenceotherstoachieveanobjective.Leadershipinitscoreisaboutpavingapathforperson/people totake partfor something extraordinaryto be realized.The term "effective leadership refers tothe ability of successfully integrating and expanding theavailableresourceswithintheinternalandexternalenvironment to reach organizational or societal goals."Leadership is a process of influence leading tothe achievement of desired purposes. Successful leadersdevelop a vision for their schools based on personal andprofessional values. They articulate this vision at every opportunityandinfluencetheirstaffandotherstakeholderstosharethevision.Thephilosophy,structuresandactivitiesoftheschoolaregearedtowardstheachievementofthissharedvision.
