Persuasive Speech Outline Template-Monroe’s Motivated Sequence
NOTE: Please delete the light-colored text as you fill in the template. Remember this is just a
template. You may or may not have the same number of supporting points, please edit the
outline to fit your needs.
In Monroe’s Motivated Sequence the outline/speech is organized differently than a
standard persuasive speech. You must follow the exact points in this outline for the
organization to work. Also, your points should contain the importance of your speech to the
audience specifically and why you are credible. These are not shown in the outline, but
must be included in your speech in an appropriate place. Remember: you will still need to
include the elements usually required like the credibility statement and audience
adaptation, but you can decide where to put these. If you need help, please discuss with me
