Ch.23 Meaning of the Future Tense In English, the idea of future action is conveyed by the use of the helping verb will before the infinitive (such as he will speak). In Spanish, the idea of future action is conveyed not by the use of a helping verb before the infinitive, but rather by the addition of a stressed ending to the infinitive (Yo hablaré=I will talk).
