You will also be tested on the chapters included on this review from Lets Play Doctor. Chapter 2: Psychosocial Health In pages 30-32 review and know the basic characteristics of psychosocially healthy people listed under Defining Psychosocial Health. Also know the components of the dimensions of health discussed on pp. 32-36, i.e., Mental, Emotional, Social and Spiritual Health. Know the presentation on Sleep: The Great Restorer, (p. 40) and pay particular attention to the all the pointers given on the methods for conquering insomnia given on page 40. Also, review The Mind-Body Connection, and Happiness: A Key to Well-Being, pp. 40-41. On page 41 know the influences/effects of laughter on health given under Does Laughter Enhance Health? Next, review Depression: The Full-Scale Tumble, pp. 42-44, and Risks for Depression. Do men and women experience depression equally? Know Risks for Depression and Facts and Fallacies About Depression, page 44. In Anxiety Disorders: Facing Your Fears, pp. 46-48, review and know treatments for Panic Disorder, Social Phobias, and Seasonal Affective Disorder, SAD. Understand and know the discussion on Schizophrenia, p. 48. What percentage of people in the US are thought to suffer from this disorder? Review Gender Issues in Psychosocial Health, p48. Understand the major controversy surrounding PMS. Very importantly, understand the discussion on Suicide: Giving Up on Life and WARNING SIGNS OF SUICIDE, pp. 49-50. Know the risk factors discussed for suicide and the common signs of possible suicide. What actions can be taken to Prevent Suicide, ? p. 50. In conclusion, in Seeking Professional Help, pp. 51-52, know the circumstances under which to consider seeking professional help, and the several types of Mental Health Professionals, described in your text, p. 52. Chapter 3: Managing Stress In the discussions on pp. 56-57 under What is Stress?, The Bodys Response to Stress, and The General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS), know the following words and terms: stressor, stress, eustress, distress, fight-or-flight response, alarm phase, resistance phase, and exhaustion phase, and the task of epinephrine in the stress response....
