UNIT 3 ASSIGNMENT 2 Chestnut Ridge Country Club has a distinguished reputation in the Elma, Tennessee area. However, the country club has been experiencing a decline in club membership and their board of directors are certain that the neighboring country clubs in the area are not experiencing that same decline. Based on the case study provided, and the research results given I would conclude that the research problem at hand is the following, what services should the Chestnut Ridge Country Club choose to upgrade/ improve to have a competing edge against its neighboring competition. Given the research problem that I have formulated there are three basic types of research design that can be used to determine the data needed to find a solution to the problem, these research designs include, exploratory, descriptive and casual. The purpose of exploratory research is to pin point the main research question to gain a better understanding of what further research needs to be done to find a solution or where to gather the needed data from. In the beginning stages of Chestnut Ridge Country Club’s research they hired an outside research team to conduct a study on all of the country clubs within the Elma, Tennessee area. The researchers
