Unformatted text preview: Jince Jacob 3-21-2008 Sociology Reading Assignment #8 This week we have summed up what we did in class and what we got out of reading Science, technology and society. In the last two classes we watched a video on hermaphrodites, people who may have a delay in developing sexual organs, may have both, or may have none. We especially focused on one particular person named Toby, who was a neuter, a person with neither sexual organ. In the reading, the thing that stuck out to me really was the explanation of fact, and it brought back to mind what we discussed about sociology on the first day, and its relation to common sense. First off, I would like to talk about the reading, and the reference to facts, which caught my attention. In the reading the authors mention that fact is an idea or concept that is accepted to be true by everyone within a community. This brought in to my head my paper on sociology to be true by everyone within a community....
