Abortion Abortion has been a topic of discussion and contention in a majority of countries. Many have been criticized, jailed and even persecuted or murdered in the name of supporting or perpetrating this act. According to Thomson J.J a lot of angles have been brought into view. Thompson argues using critical eye-opening examples which directly relate to this pertinent issue. Many proponents of abortion have argued without bringing such angles to light and as such, have always lost arguments against the opponents of abortion. For starters, Thomson argues critically by coming into agreement with the opponents of abortion that the fetus is already a human being and no line should be drawn anywhere as to when exactly does the life of the fetus begin since it is at this point that the battle is always lost by the proponents of abortion. We have to agree that without arguments and examples that we can relate to, we’ll end up in a viscous cycle with no conclusion. In light of this, we’ll look keenly into some arguments brought on board by Thomson to help us understand this matter better. The first argument brought out involves what she calls ‘the extreme view’. This view is supposed to give a certain dimension to this argument. According to this view, the most important question to ask would be who is to live in a case where the life of the mother is threatened by the fetus. The fetus being innocent and with no intention to harm the mother, many would argue is most fit to live. But of course as a simple law of nature, how is the fetus going to make it out of the mother’s womb if say, the baby is not mature enough to be incubated? Do we let both die because it is completely impermissible to perform an abortion? “

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
