MATH 138Calculus IIFall 2015Course objectives.The goal of this course is to further expand your knowledge of calculus and itsapplications for one-variable functions.The course can broadly be split into four parts.First, we willcontinue where Calculus I (MATH137) left o↵with more techniques of integration as well as applicationsincluding finding areas between two curves, volumes of solids of revolution and the average value of a function.Secondly, we will examine di↵erential equations: we will study how to solve separable di↵erential equationsand linear di↵erential equations. Thirdly, we examine sequences and series. Various tests of convergence willbe introduced. Then, we focus on power series and look at their possible applications.
