Profile of an Admirable Person: Genghis Khan I admire Genghis Khan, the founder of the Mongolian Empire in the 12 th and 13 th centuries AD, as one of the greatest historic figures before 1500 AD. I admire him as a great military leader and capable administrator (Valentino, 89). He not only expanded his empire over a vast area but also developed trade and business in his empire by connecting different regions with transport facilities. On the negative side, he was considered brutal and cruel in killing many people during the invasion of other countries. Genghis Khan lived during the period 1162-1227 AD (Turnbull, 35). His original name was Temujin . His life during his childhood and adolescence was not very comfortable even though his father was a tribal chief. His father was killed by an enemy tribe, when he was very young. His tribe did not allow him to inherit his father’s position. Temujin was abandoned by his tribe along with his mother and kin. The environment in Mongolia at that time was very tough. There was no political unity among the Mongolian Confederations

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
