OBJECTIVES: The objectives of this lab are to use LabVIEW to sample signals from a function generator and learn how analog to digital signal conversion works. In addition, we are supposed to learn about the Nyquist sampling frequency, aliasing, and the concept behind choosing the correct sampling frequency in order to gain enough information about the input signal. INSTRUMENTS: DELL computer LabVIEW 8.2 software Function Generator Oscilloscope Analog to Digital Converter (A/D or ADC) Digital to Analog Converter (D/A or DAC) DESCRIPTION OF EXPERIMENT AND EXPERIMENTAL SETUP: Exercise 2.1 – Converting Temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius During this exercise, we were asked to create a “device” that would convert Fahrenheit measurements into Celsius measurements.
