It was also to learn about Newton's Third Law of Motion by doing a hands on experiment as well as a PhET simulation. Equipment PhET Simulation “Springs and Masses” online Procedure 1. Go to PhET simulation “Springs and Masses” online 2. Create a data table 3. Play around with the weight applied to the spring 4. The spring variables can be material it is made of and the thickness of the wire and the tightness of the coil etc. 5. The mass variable is your control (the independent variable) 6. Input the data in your table 7. Using your results, calculate ‘k’ 8.
