Hotels are establishmentsthat provide access to beds within private rooms. These rooms usuallyhave en suite bathrooms and additional facilities.
Shared AccommodationShared accommodation has emerged as an increasingly popularoptionfortravellers,thankstothe success of services like Airbnb.Through these platforms, guests can find homestay offerings. This maymean having access to a private room in an occupied house or may meanhaving access to a room that is shared with other guests.HostelsA form of sociable accommodation, hostels provide dorm roomswith multiple beds, and guests effectively pay for a bed, rather than aprivate room. There is a wide range of hostel types, with either mixed orsame-sex dormitories, and guests will typically share kitchen, bathroomand living spaces.CampingConsidered a form of outdoor accommodation, camping involvesstaying overnight in basic shelters, such as a tent. Travellers may opt tospend their time in a commercial campsite, which will usually provideadditional amenities, or they may instead camp in publicly accessibleconservation areas, such as national parks.Bed and BreakfastA bed and breakfast is similar to a hotel, in the sense that guestsare provided with a private room for overnight stays. However, B&Bs tendto be converted family homes, often with the owners still living there. Asthe name suggests, breakfast is provided, while a B&B will usually have afairly small number of rooms.CruisesAside from being classed as a form of transportation, cruises arealso a type of accommodation in themselves. After all, guests on cruiseswill spend the majority of their time on the cruise ship and will usually beallocated a cabin aboard the ship, where they can relax and sleep.
