2What is culture?Widely, it is the social heritage of a group. It is a pattern of responses discovered, developed,or created during the group's history of handling problems which arise from interactions among itsmembers, and between them and territory. These responses are considered the correct way to perceive,feel, think, and act, and are passed on to the new affiliates through immersion and teaching. Culturerules what is acceptable or unacceptable, important or unimportant, right or wrong, workable orunworkable.Culture refers to the shared beliefs, values, norms, and behaviors of a particulargroup. It is the way of life of a group of people. Culture can also be described as thecharacteristics and knowledge of a certain group of people. It encompasses language,religion, clothing, social habits, customs, arts, rules, among others. People acquire culturethrough the learning process of socialization.North Africa & Southwest Asia is a region made up of countries on two continents.People in this region share similar things, especially religion. The countries in this realmshare three common traits. These traits include Islam, natural resources, and climate. Acultural realm is a cultural region where cultural traits are homogenous (Haig, 2006). Therealm of southwest Asia and North Africa extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the westernborder of China. It is a large and expansive area where people share several commoncharacteristics. Islam is considered a cultural realm in this region (El Zein, 2021). Islam is themost important feature that unites people together in North Africa and the southwest Asiaregion. The majority of people from this region follow Islam. Islam acts as a strong culturalforce that unites people in this region. It brings people with similar beliefs together. Islamicfaith provides a way of living in North Africa and southwest Asia (Haig, 2006). The holy cityof Mecca is in Saudi Arabia, which is found in this region. Islam is the most dominant realmin this religion, but there are other religions such as Christianity and Judaism (El Zein, 2021).
