There is an entire class dedicated to conflict management (COM442, Communication and Conflict Management), so we didn’t go into much detail on this.But one of the important takeaways that Dr. Jameson shared with us was the idea thatconflict itself is not alwaysnegative, even though our intuitive understanding of “conflict”is “BAD!” Rather, the ways we engage in conflict can be negative or positive.Collaboration is one area where conflict can be positive.
