Your work can be viewed below, but no changes can be made. 1. 2/2 points Hydrogens bonded to alkenyl, alkynyl and aryl carbons, where the carbons participate in the pi-system, have very different chemical shifts from hydrogens bonded to alkyl carbons. Examine the slide provided (click here for slide) to help you determine the answers to the following questions. a) Given the following 2 characteristics, which diagram best depicts the induced magnetic field of the electrons in an alkyne species. Characteristic #1: the alkynyl proton chemical shift is approximately 2.5 ppm Characteristic #2: an sp hybrid carbon is more electronegative than an sp 2 hybrid carbon and an sp 2 hybrid carbon is more electronegative than an sp 3 hybrid carbon Electron induced magnetic field A A b) The alkynyl proton is more shielded shielded than the alkenyl proton. c) There are two different kinds of protons in the aromatic molecule shown below - "outside" protons (shown in red) and "inside" protons (shown in blue). As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
