Angeles and Pacific Coast League George Genovese: “Hollywood Stars hadn’t wont the pennant in 1949. Won first pennant in PCL and then went to Senators. Games played a week in each town. Took trains in the beginning. 7 games a week, Sunday doubleheaders, first game in trousers. Conditions out west were great. Ballplayers would stay in PCL and would refuse to go to the majors. PCL teams had better ballplayers. Hy Cohen: Angels were initially the bad guys against the Hollywood Stars team. Played with Steve Bilko (best hitter in league) 3 yr MVP. Reserve clause was important, they must take what they give you; no negotiation of contracts allowed. Hollywood Stars ended in fights. Bennie Daniels: Was opening day pitcher for World Series Game that John F. Kennedy threw out first pitch for. In minor leagues for 8 years. USC Baseball Tom Satriano: Had greatest baseball team ever. Taught relationship between college and pro’s. Coach Rob Dado was amazing. Mesmerizing and great command. USC baseball dominated back then. Taught transition into big leagues.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
