Henderson 2 Chrissy Henderson TA: ________________ Physics 134 Sections 7 16 February 2005 Lab 1: DC Circuits: Voltage, Current, and Resistance I. Objective The purpose of the DC Circuits lab was to illustrate the basic concepts of simple circuits, while also giving a visual picture of the manner in which circuits operate. Ohm’s Law is used to depict the current flowing through the rheostat connection while applying a resistance. Within the lab we will also utilize the true definition of the word, Voltage: an indication of the ability to provide electric charge with energy, units J oules/ C oulomb. We worked with two different types of circuits, series and parallel. Also, we compared the difference of brightness in one and two bulbs connected to either the series or parallel circuit, and incorporated resistors to observe the change in current. II. Procedure
