DF62Q1. How should we prepare health professional students so that they are able to beeffective Inter-professional team members in the clinical environment?Inter-professional collaboration and team-work have become essential competenciesin the modern clinical environment. Inter-professional education (IPE) is a predominanttechnique in preparing health professional students to enter the healthcare workforce andensure they can effectively take the lead as professional team members in their occupationalsettings (Von der Lancken & Gunn, 2018). When preparing health professionals, establishinga dynamic universal institutional organization with a collective IPE vision is vital to enhanceeducational program coordination (2018). Students can become more efficient players withinan inter-professional healthcare collaboration team by reinforcing commitment among thestudents, staff, faculty, and interested administrators. In addition, formalizing commitmentbetween these key stakeholders can ensure more accessible leverage in effecting curricularreform and organizational culture (Brack & Shields, 2018).According to Brack and Shields (2018), preparing healthcare students for effectiveinter-professional collaboration necessitates support from senior institutional leadership fromthe onset. The power to squelch or empower institutional efforts lies within the institution’sprincipal officers, board members, and deans since their sanction will facilitate resourceallocation, institutional recognition, and obtaining a sustainable budget (Brack & Shields,2018). Also, these officials help in designating specific faculty members to enhance programcoordination. The inclusion of faculty members from all professions in the inter-professionalteam is also vital in the effective preparation of health students. If the education program issituated in an institution that does not have other health-allied courses, it is important to reachout to other educational departments (Von der Lancken & Gunn, 2018). Extensive team-workcoordination skills have become crucial in the contemporary health profession. Therefore, it

A variety of viewpoints should be incorporated in curricular workgroups, planningcommittees, and evaluation efforts. An online technology platform could also prove useful inhelping students develop and present an inter-professional care plan for complex clients. Thecore competencies of IPE such as team-work and collaboration, communication skills, conflict resolution, ethical practice, and adherence to roles and responsibilities should beincluded in designing an effective education program to ensure that professional healthstudents are able to deliver efficient team-work in their future clinical settings (Von der
