Garrett Ozar Cynthia Cooper (Whistle Blower) 3/12/2008 Cynthia Cooper Cynthia Cooper is a CPA, a Certified Information Systems Auditor and a Certified Fraud Examiner, mainly for the state of Georgia. She has served on the Accounting Advisory Board for the University of Alabama and is presently the Chairperson for the Internal Auditing Advisory Board for Louisiana State University. Her main claim to fame is when she revealed WorldCom’s corporate fraud; which is known as the “largest corporate fraud in history.” After her detection of WorldCom’s fraud, she was named Time Magazine’s 2002 Person of the Year. The honor of the award puts her on a short list of elite women who have previously won the award. Ms. Cooper did not stop at winning Person of the Year. Her next main accolade was being inducted as the first woman in the AICPA Hall of Fame. Ms. Cooper is also known as being one of the most influential working mothers in the nation.
