Garrett Ozar Article Reaction October 3, 2007 The first article that I read was “Building an Idea Factory” which is written by several authors in the United States and Tokyo. The article illuminates the idea that innovation remains an art that sometimes is fallen upon rather than strategically thought up. Large companies also continue to think up idea after idea knowing that most of them will be shot down, in the attempt to find the one idea that “opens up into this huge, broad avenue.” The article also stresses on companies reducing their product cycles, making their productions process as efficient as possible. Running parallel to the notion that quality innovation takes luck and a compilation of a plethora of ideas, in order to receive big results, companies must take big risks. The article also claims that breaking up work groups into smaller project teams is a much more productive and cost-efficient process.
