Devine Command Theory
The Devine Command Theory can be defined as, a belief system that states that moral
and immoral acts are command by the divine. As with all theories they can be debated unless
solid proof is found. Many people believe in a higher being which makes the Devine Command
Theory makes sense and seems like a plausible answer as why we do what we do, anyone who
believes does not want to upset or let down someone that is Devine. All theories are testable, and
pros and cons of the theory is discovered.
There are a few flaws within the Devine Command Theory one being is why and how
does the Devin set what is considered moral or immoral. One of the flaws is followed by the
question is the acts considered moral or immoral simply because the Devine says so, which
means that what is considered moral one day may be considered immoral the next. As Hammond
