The banker represents the respectable society but he’s not really respectableThomas Mitchell played Doc BooneIndians represent wilderness Pay attention to the costumes, the design of the town vs the wide open space, and the idea of everyone being thrown togetherA “drummer” is a salesman. What did he take from the bank? The payroll “I guess you cant break out of prison & into society in the same week” The lower voice-d woman is one that is usually not as trustworthy and should be taken with caution oShe’s singing so her friends can steal the horses

There are ways in which it is a bit possible he could have survived it Hatfield is put in a way to make Ringo look better in some scenes and to remind us that he is an Eastaner. Although Dallas is looked down upon, we are still made to feel sympathy towards her, because no one wants her to be at the table,Mrs. Mallory gets a special cup to drink from and Dallas doesn’t, Gatewood refuses to drink after her. Dallas also gives help regardless of how everyone treats her. How is Hatfield contrasted with Ringo during the Apache attack? oRingo leaves the safety of the Stagecoach, leaves the range of the others and opens himself to being shot at. Hatfield is smiling and enjoying the shooting from inside the stagecoach.Why did Hatfield pull a gun on Mallory? oHe thinks her being kidnapped by the Indians would be worse.Luckily for her, he gets killed by the Indians at that moment.
