DeLisle 1 John DeLisle CIMT 301 Lesson Plan 3 of 5 Check Writing Unit Grades 7 Time allotted: 43 minutes Background: The purpose of this lesson is for students to be introduced to writing checks for specific budgets. We have learned in previous lessons about what information is contained on a check, where that information is located, and how to write checks. Objectives: 1. When given a check and check information by the teacher, students will write a check with five of the seven parts correct. ( BTL.1.1.1, Psychomotor, Cognitive) 2. When given a sample budget by the teacher, students will verbally identify the important parts pertaining to writing a check. ( BTL.1.1.1, Cognitive) Materials: 1. Pen 2. Practice checkbook 3. Practice check handout 4. Budget Handout 5. Overhead projector Procedures: 1. Introduction and Motivation 1. I will introduce the lesson for the day. We will be writing checks according to a budget provided by the teacher. 2.
