John DeLisle CIMT 301 Lesson Plan 1 of 5 Check Writing Unit Grades 7 Time allotted: 43 minutes Background: The purpose of this lesson is for students to be introduced to check writing. We will cover the basics of the check format. Students, most likely, have not been instructed on how to prepare a check and what information a check contains. Objectives: 1. When asked by the teacher, each learner will verbally indentify the information contained within a check. ( BTL.1.1.1, Cognitive) 2. When asked by the teacher, each learner will verbally identify the area in which the information contained on the check is located. (BTL.1.1.1, Psychomotor) Materials: 1. Pen 2. Practice checkbook 3. Handout Procedures: 1. Introduction and Motivation 1. I will introduce myself to the class and talk a little about what my major is. I will also give a little background about myself and my future plans. I will ask the students if they have ever done check writing before. Before passing out the pretest I will discuss with them the importance of being able to write checks and balance a checkbook. 2.
