Abstract In this study we study about the different type of pump like series pump, single pump and parallel pump knowing their advantage The test set-up can be run with a single pump, two pumps in series, or two pumps in parallel. The performance will include pump head, power input, and efficiency as a function of flow rate for different pump speeds. Single-stage , Parallel , Serious, Suction centrifugal pump setup, scale, hook gauge, V-notch, suction pressure gauge, delivery pressure gauge, double acting reciprocating pump (for priming), power supply, stop watch, etc. Our main objective find out error in experimental data and theoretical data performance. Introduction Pump is a machine which when driven by power from external source, raises water or any other fluid from lower level to higher level (increases the pressure) i.e. it receives mechanical energy and raises the potential energy of the fluid. Hence the pump is just the inversion of hydraulic prime-mover. There are two main types of pump: a) Centrifugal pump. b) Reciprocating pump (positive displacement). Centrifugal pump belongs to the category of dynamic pressure pumps where in the pumping of liquid s or generation of head is effected by the rotary motion of one or more rotating wheels called the impeller. Which machine convert mechanical energy into hydraulic energy are called pump when the hydraulic energy is present in the form of pressure energy if the mechanical energy is convert into pressure energy by means of centrifugal force acting on the fluid these hydraulic. Centrifugal pumps works on the principal force vortex flow, it means that when a certain mass of the fluid is rotated by an external force or torque, the rise the pressure head of the rotating liquid take place. A Centrifugal pump essentially consists of the following elements: Rotating elements: Stationary element: Suction pipe, strainer and foot valve: Delivery pipe and delivery valve: Whereas turbines convert fluid energy into mechanical energy, pumps convert mechanical energy into fluid energy, increasing the energy possessed by the fluid. There are two main pump types: positive displacement pumps—pistons, plungers, diaphragms, vanes, screws, lobes, which have a
fixed flow rate per stroke or revolution; and turbo-hydraulic or kinetic pumps—centrifugal pumps, which convert fluid kinetic energy into static pressure energy. Types of Moving fluid many forces acting Inertia Forces : It is equal to product of mass and acceleration of the flowing fluid act in the direction opposite to the direction of acceleration.
