Drug Abuse In Adolescence Research Topic Review
Drug abuse in adolescence drug use is alarmingly high. While some would argue that the
drug usage is no higher than it was in past generations, there are some research and data that
contradicts this ideology. A very high number of teens admit to using or having experimented
with drugs, other than marijuana. Some people believe that this is because teen drug usage is
viewed as a “rite of passage”. However, is it a “rite of passage” for teenagers to abuse
prescription drugs and use hardcore drugs such as heroin and methamphetamine? It is these type
of drugs that teenagers are increasingly using.
Problem
According to an article in Time , it is not is not a good idea to view teenage drug useage as
