Jessica Guise Music is the Spice of Life Music is everywhere. It is on TV, in the movies, in elevators it is part of every persons life, it is even in our bathrooms. All though there are many artists who are considered cross-over artist, each genre has its differences. These differences range from ethnicity to origin and the instruments used in each form of music. The audience is as diverse as the music and stories that it depicts. If you were to take a peek into my cabnet you would find a little of each of these. Blues is a genre of music that is harmonic and sometimes quite repetitive. It has influenced many other genres of music including but not limited to: country, rock and roll, and hip hop. Little is known about the origin of blues music but it is thought to get its stylistic origins largely from the folk songs, spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants of African Americans. These forms of music are based on a call and response shout, and were simple solo songs laden
