On the other hand, full body tattoos can hinder finding a different type of employment. For some companies, they consider any visible tattoos to be unprofessional, putting an individual with a full body tattoo at a disadvantage in finding a job (Lorenz 2). The act of receiving a full body tattoo could, however, become practical, especially for the use of clan markings. For those belonging to the clan, “not only can [they] recognize [their] friends quickly, even in the frenzy of battle, but more importantly, [their] people are connected even beyond death” (Allen 1). By the same token, these markings on the body can become maladaptive, for a criminal suspect can easily be identified with his or her tattoos compared to another criminal with no distinguishable features. In the US, by the statistical definition, filll body tattoos warrant abnormal behavior. An individual exhibiting abnormal behavior does not always need professional help, and in most cases, both advantages and disadvantages can arise fi‘om its effects. Depending on the situation, abnormal behavior can become adaptive for one person, but maladaptive to another person.
