Simplifying Expressions Simplifying ExpressionsWhen working with math you can easily get confused. If you use the acronym “PEMDAS” it will make things easier. PEDAMS stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiply, Divide, Add, and Subtract. The properties of real numbers make up one of the three components we call the math system. The three components area set of numbers, operations with the set of numbers, and properties of the numbers (operations). Knowing how to use each property is extremely important. They give you power to solve common problems in algebra. You can simplifyalgebraic expressions by using properties such as grouping like terms, and using algebraic operations (add, subtract, multiply, etc.), I will now us the practiced methods to solve these equations, I have to use the distributive property.
