2The impact of stress on academic success in college studentsIntroductionStress may express itself in many ways during a person's normal day-to-day activities. When looking at pressure from a different perspective, consider the body's reaction to a newscenario. As recent events arise in our life, we learn to deal with them and adapt to them.Failure in academics or athletics, financial issues, sickness, or the loss of a family member orclose friend are all potential sources of anxiety. Stressors are events that cause a person tofeel anxious or stressed (Alyahyan & Düştegör, 2020). People's lives might be disrupted byunanticipated changes and conflicts that can negatively influence their way of life and eventheir health. The way a person responds to stress determines the amount to which it has animpact on them. Stress will reduce and eventually evaporate from their lives when a personaccepts tragedy as a regular part of life and develops coping mechanisms to deal with it(Alyahyan & Düştegör, 2020). As a result, the individual may suffer from persistentemotional anguish for an extended period. In this essay, we will examine how intellectual, economic, and social constraints placed on college students might negatively influence theiracademic success, notably when academic achievement decreases as a consequence ofstudent tiredness. The truth is that college students are under a great deal of pressure to do well in theiracademics. Some first-year students find it difficult to acclimatize to college due to therigorous schedules and overwhelming amount of information they must learn (Alyahyan &Düştegör, 2020). College courses go at a much faster pace than high school courses.Consequently, students may find it difficult to retain what their professor has said sincelectures go at a rapid pace. Students may be feeling overwhelmed by their already demandingschedule, much alone the increasing expectations of their college classes, which frequentlycontain a more in-depth curriculum, which may be overwhelming. According to the results of
3a study conducted by mental health.net, among 1,000 students, 67 percent of them identifiedacademics as their most significant cause of stress (Alyahyan & Düştegör, 2020). In light oftheir high school grades, many students may feel an increased amount of pressure to live upto the expectations of their families and, at times, even their aspirations. Therefore, if they areunable to manage their time effectively, they may experience extreme stress throughout theircollege years as a result of the academic pressure that they are under.
