APA Style Citation Tips for HDFS 1300 Students There are two main components to citing your information sources according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5 th ed.), otherwise known as APA style: 1) Parenthetical citations (provided within the text of your paper) and 2) the list of References (provided at the end of your paper). For more information, please consult www.apastyle.org or the APA Manual itself. 1) Parenthetical Citations Give the last name(s) of the author(s) and the year of publication, in parentheses, within the text of your paper next to your paraphrasing of the information that you learned from the source.
