Fact- family violence occurs in epidemic proportions in the United states iii. Myth 2- men are equally victims of domestic violence 1. Fact- approx 85% of the victims of domestic violence are women iv. Myth 3- domestic violence occurs only in poor, poorly educated, minority, or “dysfunctional” families 1. Fact- domestic violence crosses all socio-economic and ethnic boundaries

v. Myth 5- domestic violence is more common in hetro than homo 1. Fact- reported 30 to 40 percent of LFBT relationships which is the same percentage seen in hetro relationships
