Candide relation to the enlightenment for exam- 2 short answers Wednesday 12-1 or 1-2 2/7/08 The French Revolution (1792 +) o Mass killing- radical phase of the French Revolution o Time where ordinary people organize into political groups, in meetings the political ideas are expressed o Military have many problems- you have an intense political feud and military outside Summer of 1793 o The Jacobins seize power, pass a series of policies to help with war, they over take army and turn out more weapons, began a draft, bring in more reliable people Reign of Terror- most of victims are peasants for hording grain or food, a lot of ordinary people are caught up in the this, some aristocrats are killed, most people killed one at a time, not is a mass killing o In the purge of Jacobins- more people killed in this then Reign Of Terror ROT works in a sense- revolution is saved, except the way it was saved and how the Jacobins were silenced- o Peasantry- grievance surrounds land, land comes into market from exiling people,
