Discussion Boards constitute a major part of student’s grades in online courses.
Because this type of academic requirement is, most likely, not as familiar to you as quizzes,
tests, exams and laboratory exercises, it is important that you receive as much guidance as
possible. In response to the many easily avoidable DB errors I see in student postings, I am
creating this checklist that, I hope, will make DBs more “user friendly”.
IN ORDER TO RECEIVE ANY CREDIT FOR YOUR POST, YOUR MUST HAVE THE MINIMUM
NUMBER OF WORDS AND YOU MUST USE AMA CITATION STYLE AND FORMAT. IF YOU DO
NOT MEET EITHER OF THESE REQUIREMENTS, YOU MAY NOT RECEIVE ANY CREDIT FOR YOUR
POST.
Prepare: This section is very important as the success of the other parts rely very heavily on
correctly following the steps in this section.
o Start researching your DB topic well ahead of the due date with plans to submit before
the deadline.
