Health is a multi-dimensional concept – involves interrelationships among dynamic human processes, social structures, and social policies, including: Individual, physical, biological, psychological & social dimensions; Our social and physical environment; Lifestyles (health behaviours); The health care system; Public policies and private insurance plans concerning coverage, payment, and access. Health Transitions Term that captures the dynamic interplay between individual and structural factors that shape our health as we age (shares many of the tenets of life course theory). Incidence of acute and chronic illness varies as individuals move through life and how individuals react to illness, frailty, and impending death. The longer we live, the greater the chance of experiencing chronic diseases & physical & cognitive impairments.
