ECEN 454 Digital Integrated Circuit Design Fall 2007 Homework 5 Due on October 26, Friday 1. (10 points) Spice simulation. The following is a portion of the spice netlist in which an inverter is driving a RC load: vsupply vdd 0 dc 1.2v Mp1 10 input vdd vdd cmosp w=0.78u l=0.13u Mn1 10 input 0 0 cmosn w=0.26u l=0.13u Rload 10 out 50 Cload out 0 10e-15 The complete netlist can be downloaded from: http://dropzone.tamu.edu/~jhu/teaching/ecen454Fall07/inverter.sp You need to use HSPICE (available from EE Sun servers) or PSPICE (windows,OS, the free student version can be downloaded from: http://www.electronics- lab.com/downloads/schematic/013/ ) to perform the following simulations: 1) Perform a DC sweep analysis to get the VTC of the inverter by sweeping the DC input voltage from 0v to Vdd (1.2v); Submit a plot of the simulated VTC curve. 2) Perform a transient analysis when the input voltage is a rising ramp followed by a falling ramp. The input voltage waveform is specified using a PWL voltage source in the netlist. Submit a plot for the simulation where you have the input
