CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS 2 On October 15, 1962, the U.S discovered the Soviet Union’s attempts to mount nuclear missiles in Cuba. These missiles would have been able of hastily reaching the U.S. President Kennedy responded instantly with a naval blockade. After several days of increasing global tensions, the Soviet Union lastly agreed to remove their missiles from Cuba. That followed an agreement that saw the U.S quietly remove her missiles in turkey the spring of 1963 that equally threatened the Soviet Union. This missile crisis is considered as the closest the globe has come to a nuclear exchange. The president began by informing his constituent, the American citizens about the discovery and the causes of the stalemate. The president issued an ultimatum that he called “absolute quarantine” to the Soviet Union demanding that they remove their missiles from Cuba. In
