Business Ethics – Discussion 3 Answer the question, "What does Rawls mean by a veil of ignorance? What purpose does it serve?" Illustrate how the technique might be used in solving an issue of justice. Post your response in the Discussions section and feel free to respond to other student's postings. Rawls’ veil of ignorance is his terminology for a person’s personal prejudices. He thought this veil was used to determine crucial foundations of society. The purpose of this veil was to set up a just society with rules and laws that are as fair as possible. As for using the veil of ignorance, it is where one would have to consider an action as though it would never affect them. An example of using the veil of ignorance would be determining the rules and laws of gay marriage.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
