Patrick Sowell English Composition 101 Paper 3- “success” Final Draft- Teeter Tooter of Success Several owners and founders are able to achieve success in the fast food industry; however, the fast food industry is not a good place to achieve success. There are thousands of fast food restaurants in the nation today. With thousands of fast food restaurants across the nation workers are forced to work for minimum wage, and the atmosphere in which they work is dirty and unpleasant. Fast food gives jobs to many young adults in America, but it does not offer financial security or job satisfaction. Franchisees often don’t have a good chance to become successful. Grinding it Out by Ray Kroc begins by describing Kroc as a young businessman who over time took risks that led to the franchising of McDonald’s. Kroc started his career as a salesman and eventually came across the original McDonald’s in San Bernardino, California. Kroc struck a deal with the McDonald brothers to franchisee McDonald’s across the country. Years later Kroc was able to buy out the McDonald brothers, and he began to franchise as well as open corporate owned stores.
