2Reflection of My WritingI have learnt a lot about myself as a writer over this semester. This English 1102 class has givenme a better understanding of how to compose an essay and how to analyze critically. A college writingclass has offered me a lot more flexibility in my writing than high school, when I felt constrained and as ifwhat we were writing wasn't really significant. To a certain extent, I still feel this way about writing, butin this course, for the first time, I was able to communicate my thoughts and challenge my writing talentsin a constructive way. I had a lot of fun being able to express myself more in my writings, and I think itcontributed to the development of my own unique writing style[ CITATION Fin191 \l 1033 ]. During thefirst few weeks of class, my writing was a little choppy and there was a lot of opportunity fordevelopment. It is now easier for me to link paragraphs since I employ a variety of techniques, includingas outlining, to do so. There are several ways in which my writing has improved since graduating fromhigh school. For me, this was my first time ever taking a college writing course. My writing abilities weren'tterrible, but they could have been better. Some of my high school talents were readily transferred tocollege, while others were difficult. When it came to gathering facts and creating a foundation, I wasalways a natural. In addition, I've always found writing to be a breeze after I've established a solidfoundation. Filling in the important points was a breeze. In college, it became clear to me that I lacked acertain level of depth in my knowledge.Improvements were not difficult to implement. Some writing requires more information thanothers, and I have a hard time figuring out why this is the case at times. This lesson has helped me a littlebit with that problem, but it has also helped me improve my skills in other areas. A number of tasks I'vehad to do during this semester have helped me improve as a writer in various ways. I've learned a lot inthis class, including how to improve my critical thinking, reading, and information literacy skills, as wellas how to write better and learn more about conventions.
