Question 5- Patriatism or Revenge? in "Mother Savage" by Guy de Maupassant Her act was hardly patriotic. Her motives were purley for revenge. She could have felt patriotic earlier and killed the Prussian soldiers, but she only planned and executed her actions after news of her son's death. Revenge was tghe only thing that made her do it. While some patriotic people would have been pleased that she did it, her personal reasons did not have the country and patriatism in mind. It was mearly a mother seeking revenge. She would have done the same in other situations. Her actions
