Conflict, something that nearly everyone faces every day of their life, yet it is also something that everyone attempts to stay away from as much as they can. Conflict is considered something that is “a part of every interpersonal relationship”, and for that reason is something that is virtually inevitable (DeVito, 2007, p.286). Although conflict is usually considered in a negative term, it can also be useful as well in the sense that it in the end brings people closer than they were prior to the conflict. After putting up with such a situation for a long time, she decides to abandon her family and set out for a new life for her new baby. The conflict that Maria faces can relate to the five principles of interpersonal conflict.
