Steven Vecchio Dr. Tullock Introduction to the New Testament 27 September, 2007 Reflection Paper #1 I was born in 1988 to a working mother and a father also working while attending seminary. When I was nearly a year old my parents, older sister and I moved to New York where my dad would eventually become youth pastor of a local church. It was at this church when my personal “God experience” began. It was a Wednesday night at church, at the age of seven, when I decided to give my life toChrist. Since then it has been a long journey with many hardships as well as many blessings. I am thankful that God saw fit to put me in a great Christian home with many Christ like friends and authority. My dad’s job ministerial occupation in so many different churches has probably taken away from my overall church experience. He has been youth pastor in two different churches, and outreach and assimilation pastor of another. Since his resignation from our last church home more than a year and a half ago, our family has visited more churches than I can remember. Out of all of the churches that we attendednot one stands out to me now that I really felt a connection with and wanted to go again the next Sunday. That experience, along with the church politics a preachers kid witnesses first hand, has dulled down my outlook about church and left me withno real desire to find a church home. This is an area of my life that I need to pray hard that God will mend my impaired view and help place me in a church where I can be involved and grow deeper in my faith. Aside from church, I have grown to appreciate the middle and high school education that I was given. Attending a private Christian school gave me the opportunity to be a part of many
