2Education is a wonderful luxury, a luxury that many people do not get to experience. They leave high school and jump right into the work force, the blue-collar workforce. A majorityend up in factory work, which is where Andrew Braaksma worked while on summer break fromcollege. Through his experiences in both college life and through his summer jobs as a blue-collar worker, he was able to truly grasp how valuable a good education is. Braaksma tries toshare the lessons he learned the hard way through his article “Some Lessons From The AssemblyLine”. Trying to reach out and change the minds of young adults not sure about their paths aftergraduating high school, his article brings up many strong points about the value of a goodeducation and the downsides of a blue-collar job. Problems like a lack of job security, long hourswith minimal pay, and the fact that no amount of education could prepare anyone for the workingforce are the main ones he brings into his article.
