Pre-War Event Description Contribution to the Revolutionary War French and Indian War A battle between the French and English over colonial territory and wealth, which lasted 7 years and even ended with more deaths than the revolutionary war. After the French and India War tension was created Sugar Act The colonists needed protection from the Natives, so the Sugar Act imposed taxes on sugar, wine, and other daily used goods. The Sugar Act unbalanced trade and also caused colonists to boycott, which brought the economy down. Stamp Act Was imposed on all the American colonists, which stated that they had to pay taxes for each printed paper they used. Colonists did not like the restrictions of the Stamp Act, but where afraid of disobeying.
