Zeh, 2 This report is a recommendation to the Committee on Audio Visual  Technologies at Alfred University in order to help them to decide whether to  buy a large amount (100+ units) of either HD-DVD or Blu-ray DVD players.  This report will compare both formats and with this information give a  recommendation to the committee on which format to buy for the school.  Introduction  This report is a recommendation to Committee on Audio Visual  Technologies at Alfred University. The Committee is planning on buying a large  amount of units of the latest technology in DVD players. It is this reports purpose  to recommend to the Committee which format the university should buy, HD-DVD  or Blu-ray DVD players. HD-DVD and Blu-ray are the two formats that are the  next generation of DVD formats. At this point there is no clear winner as to which  format is superior. However both formats have their positive aspects and  negative aspects and because of this until one format are obviously better there  will be supporters for both.  This report will compare aspects of the two different

Zeh, 3 formats to determine which would be better suited for the university. These  aspects include picture quality, audio quality, unit cost, DVD cost, capacity,  variety, and educational value.  Comparison  This section is the comparison of different aspects of the formats in  question. This section will help with the conclusions of this report and the solution  submitted to the committee.  Quality The first aspect to be compared is that of quality. Two types of  quality will be compared picture quality and the audio quality. They are both  important to the comparison of the formats in that they greatly affect the ways the  formats can be used. Picture quality although important isn’t when compared
